Fish Oil Capsules

Is it okay to keep the fish oil capsules in the refrigerator?

It's hot in my house and I have no AC and caps tend to melt a little in my house.

Lizards is not wrong, but it also does not give you the whole story. Medium hot and humid, like what you describe is not an ideal storage area, nor the fridge (which is cold and often wet, especially in summer). The storage area is an ideal cool and dry … be it a basement, cold room in the house, or even a cooler in the back of a closet. Yes, there are some areas where none are possible (no air conditioning, no basement, etc.) and if it gets hot enough, the fridge is better than the extreme heat … but is the lesser of two evils, really. Where this is not so hot and humid in your house, it would be best not to store them in the refrigerator, but I also recommend not to take your pills everyday at the start of a big bottle in the refrigerator as well. In other words, when you take the bottle the refrigerator and take your pill (s) off, you put some of that warm, moist air into the bottle where it condenses … as time passes, that Condensation can chew the leaves of gelatine. This is typically only a problem when it's great when it's wet or a large bottle (if you hundreds of times before you're done with the bottle), but I've heard of problems going on at other times too. Good luck with pills, and I hope this helps! [Edit]: I do not want to Lizard lips bad at all, I tried to add to his answer, because it is not always very well to cool the capsules … generally, if the bottle does not say to refrigerate, you should not refrigerate normally, but it's better than a steamy room. "As time passes" may be a few weeks or a month or two, depending on the humidity level (It is more commonly seen with 3-6 month supply bottles 30 bottles of pills). You can see it faster if you have Jell-O is cool (the same gelatin capsules is), add a teaspoon of water on top of solid Jell-O, and you will see the Jell-O in this spot almost collapsing in a few days. The same happens to the pill in the fridge (which is most obvious with capsules because the liquid can flow more easily) but you just need more time. Fusion and viscosity she was referring to the heat would damage the gelatin … the other is side of the coin. Gelatin is very sensitive to heat, moisture, and humidity … it is a good reason is normally used because gelatin is damaged before the content (so you'll know the content very well if the gelatin was not too hot during shipping or storage). I apologize to lizard if she thought I was insulting or attacking it was not my intention.
