How I can take care of my hair thin? I am a boy 28 years?

I'm only 28 years and I can see how my hair gets thinner all day, I see that fall is really thin and every time you use gel seems im balding. I think I'm too young to be bald and I have no close relative who lost hair in the 20s. I have been under great stress and personal problems over the past 20 months or so, which could be the reason? What I can use to make hair thicker? I've tried vitamin E but I did not see anything changing. Any advice?
