Vitamin E Lung Cancer

How can a woman who has smoked since age 16 (she 74 now and still puffin a pack a day) does not have cancer?

or other issues? My mother has smoked since she was 16 and 74 and smoked about 2 packs a day. I know that because they buy for their daily. (Not with our money, feable she go to the store). Takes all types of pills for the heart, Vitamin E, is the oxygen at night and during the day sometimes. I do not understand how someone who has smoked so much time and smoke 2 packs a day does not have cancer. She has a collapsed left lung and COPD and emphezyma, but it is and still smokes. Go to the room emergency once a month for "respiratory problems." My uncle has smoked since she was 15 years and has had triple bypass 1, has cell lung cancer large, his right lung has collapsed and is just 46 and is in hospital now to get cured of pneumonia has been for 2 months. I do not understand. People with cancer should have to have the gene, what do you think?

Cancer has proven time and again that is inherited (genes). Sometimes other factors such as radiation or chemical exposure.
